At what age will a American shorthair male start to develop jowls?

At what age will a American shorthair male start to develop jowls?

Elizabeth Hamill: Ron, typically only “whole” or non neutered males develope jowels. Alex got “chubby cheeks” as he developed in weight so he has little ones. He is not overweight (12.5lbs) but they definately came on when he got over 10lbs. My last American who lived to 14 didn’t develope his cheeks until he was 5 years old and he was a little heavy. So I think for a neuter it totally has to do with how they mature and gain in weight.

Ron Sweetser: Aww, I hope my guy is the exception. I was looking forward to that.
